Join us on Tuesday 11 February for the launch of our nonviolent direct action campaign to compel East Sussex County Council to stop funding climate change: a mass ‘Thunberg-in’ (masks provided) and sing-a-thon outside County Hall in Lewes, with a pre-Valentine’s day theme! 8 – 10am, County Hall, St Anne’s Cres, BN7 1UE.

East Sussex County Council (ESCC) has declared a “climate emergency” but continues to invest £145m of local peoples’ pensions in the giant oil and gas companies that are driving our current climate crisis – companies like Exxon and BP.
If ESCC has not committed itself to divesting the fund from fossil fuels by the time of its next Full Council meeting on 11 February, Divest East Sussex will be launching a nonviolent direct action campaign to compel ESCC to stop funding climate change.
