Act Now: Divest from fossil fuels. Join the procession to County Hall with giant newspaper front pages on 19 September

Join the procession to County Hall with giant newspaper front pages on Tuesday 19 September.
Assemble 8.15am, Lewes station (Station Road, BN7 2UP).

July was the hottest month ever recorded, with extreme heatwaves in the US, Mexico, Southern Europe and China, deadly floods in India and Pakistan and record wildfire in Canada.

Yet despite declaring a ‘climate emergency’ in 2019, East Sussex County Council (ESCC) still refuses to stop investing local people’s pensions in the giant fossil fuel companies (like Shell and BP) that are driving the climate crisis.

On Tuesday 19 September the East Sussex Pension Committee will once again vote on whether to divest from fossil fuels.

Join us to take this summer’s front page headlines – and the words of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres – to County Hall, to demand real and rapid action on the climate crisis.
